Spinach Artichoke Swirls

Ingredients
  

For the Dough
  • 1 package puff pastry thawed
  • 1 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup spinach fresh or frozen, chopped
  • 1 cup artichoke hearts canned or frozen, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
For the Garnish
  • 1 tablespoon parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, spinach, artichoke hearts, garlic, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated and set aside.
Prepare the Dough
  1. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  2. Spread the filling evenly over the surface of the puff pastry.
Roll and Cut
  1. Starting from one edge, carefully roll the pastry tightly into a log.
  2. Slice the log into 1-inch thick pieces and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake the Swirls
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Sprinkle the tops with grated parmesan cheese.
  3. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.
Garnish and Serve
  1. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.
  2. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes
