Method
Prepare the Base
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer.
Make the Caramel
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, heavy cream, and cubed butter.
- Stir continuously until the mixture comes to a boil, then let it boil for 2-3 minutes without stirring.
- Remove from heat and pour the caramel over the arranged crackers, spreading it evenly.
Bake the Bites
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the caramel is bubbly.
- Remove from oven and let it cool for 5 minutes before sprinkling with sea salt.
Cool and Cut
- Allow the caramel bites to cool completely on the baking sheet.
- Once cooled, break into pieces and serve.
