Ingredients
  

For the Base
  • 2 cups saltine crackers or any plain crackers
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
For the Caramel
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter cubed
For the Topping
  • 1/2 cup sea salt for sprinkling

Method
 

Prepare the Base
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer.
Make the Caramel
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, heavy cream, and cubed butter.
  2. Stir continuously until the mixture comes to a boil, then let it boil for 2-3 minutes without stirring.
  3. Remove from heat and pour the caramel over the arranged crackers, spreading it evenly.
Bake the Bites
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the caramel is bubbly.
  2. Remove from oven and let it cool for 5 minutes before sprinkling with sea salt.
Cool and Cut
  1. Allow the caramel bites to cool completely on the baking sheet.
  2. Once cooled, break into pieces and serve.
