Prepare the Potato Mixture
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the heavy cream, milk, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg.
- Layer the thinly sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish, pouring the cream mixture over each layer as you go.
Bake the Dish
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle the gruyère cheese evenly over the top, and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbling and golden.
Add the Topping
- Once the potatoes are cooked and cheese is golden, remove from the oven.
- Sprinkle the grated parmesan cheese and chopped parsley on top.
- Let it sit for 10 minutes before serving to allow it to set.
