Ingredients
  

For the Burger Patties
  • 1 pound ground beef preferably 80/20 for juiciness
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For the Toppings
  • 1 cup bell pepper sliced (mixed colors preferred)
  • 1 cup onion sliced
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
For Serving
  • 1 cup lettuce shredded

Method
 

Prepare the Burger Patties
  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty.
Cook the Patties
  1. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
Sauté the Vegetables
  1. In a separate skillet, add a little oil and heat over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced bell pepper and onion, sautéing until they are tender and slightly caramelized, about 5-6 minutes.
Make the Avocado Cream
  1. In a small bowl, mash the avocado and mix it with sour cream and lime juice until smooth.
Assemble the Burgers
  1. Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
  2. Spread a spoonful of avocado cream on the bottom half of each bun.
  3. Place the cooked burger patty on the bun, top with sautéed vegetables, lettuce, and tomato.
  4. Finish by placing the top half of the bun on the burger and serve immediately.
