Ingredients
  

For the Base
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup vegetable oil for frying
For the Topping
  • 1 cup granulated sugar for dusting
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon optional
For the Chocolate Sauce
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Method
 

Prepare the Churro Dough
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine water, sugar, and salt over medium heat. Bring to a boil.
  2. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball.
  3. Allow the dough to cool slightly, then mix in eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.
Fry the Churros
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
  3. Pipe 4-inch strips of dough into the hot oil, frying until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  4. Remove churros from oil and drain on paper towels.
Coat the Churros
  1. In a shallow dish, mix sugar and cinnamon.
  2. Roll the warm churros in the sugar mixture to coat evenly.
Make the Chocolate Sauce
  1. In a small saucepan, heat heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips until melted and smooth.
Serve
  1. Serve churros warm with chocolate sauce for dipping.
