Prepare the Dough
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
- Gradually add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for about 30 minutes.
Assemble the Pizza
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a circle to fit your skillet.
- Heat the cast iron skillet over medium heat and add a little olive oil to coat the bottom.
- Place the dough in the skillet and add pizza sauce, spreading evenly.
- Top with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, and bell pepper slices.
Bake the Pizza
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves before slicing.
