  • 12 oz no-boil lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb lean ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp salt (divided)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp dried oregano (optional)
  • 3 cups shredded whole milk mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a large sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or sausage until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and stir in marinara sauce until heated through.
  3. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with egg, 1 tsp salt, pepper, and oregano (if using).
  4. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of the sheet pan. Layer noodles on top, followed by half of the ricotta mixture and more meat sauce. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
  5. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and cover with foil.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden brown. Let cool slightly before slicing.
