Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 duck
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest (from about 1 orange)
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Score the skin of the duck breasts in a crisscross pattern, being careful not to cut into the meat.
  3. Season both sides of the duck breasts with salt and pepper.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Place the duck breasts skin-side down and sear for 6-8 minutes until golden brown.
  5. While searing, mix orange zest, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil in a bowl.
  6. Flip the duck breasts skin-side up, pour half of the sauce over them, and transfer the skillet to the oven. Roast for about 10-15 minutes until cooked through.
  7. Serve drizzled with remaining sauce.
