  • 1 pound thinly sliced ribeye steak
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 8 ounces provolone cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 6 slices sourdough or Italian bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ribeye steak for 3-4 minutes until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Add onions and bell peppers to the skillet; sauté until soft (about 5 minutes).
  4. Layer half of the bread slices in the baking dish, followed by half of the provolone cheese and the steak mixture. Repeat layers.
  5. Spread butter on top layer of bread and sprinkle remaining mozzarella and provolone cheese.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes; remove foil and bake an additional 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
