Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 lb)
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 4 green onions, chopped
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp chili paste (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces for even cooking. Mince garlic and slice bell pepper and green onions.
  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, chili paste, and cornstarch to create a marinade. Add chicken and marinate for at least 30 minutes in the fridge.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large wok over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Remove excess marinade from chicken and fry in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per batch. Set aside.
  5. In the same wok, sauté garlic, bell pepper, and green onions until fragrant. Return cooked chicken to the pan along with any leftover marinade; cook until sauce thickens.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds.
